Review by Fikko3107:
Katamari Damacy is a very unique 3rd-person Puzzle-Action game. Certainly, it can very much be considered a “Widget” game, as in a “Weird Japanese thing”. An offbeat, usually not mainstream production from Japan. In Katamari Damacy (which means “Clump/Clod Soul” in Japanese) you play as the Prince (The little green guy), the son of the King of All Cosmos (The fabulous fellow in the second picture), who in a drunken stupor, destroys every star in the galaxy. It’s now your job to fix his problem.
You achieve this by using a Katamari, a roughly ball-shaped thing that makes anything smaller than it to stick unto it. Levels are completed by rolling up materials and making the Katamari grow to the objective withing the time limit (Which the King of All Cosmos then uses to recreate the stars.) On earlier levels, you would be rolling up tiny objects such as flowers, erasers or pencils; later on, you would be rolling up whole mountains. Some levels can have different objectives. For instance, recreating the Cancer constellation involve rolling up as many crabs as possible.
