Description:
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is a Fighting video game published by SNK Playmore released on December 17th, 2007 for the PlayStation 2.
Review by Fikko3107:
NeoGeo Battle Coliseum is essentially the SNK equivalent to Capcom’s Capcom Fighting Evolution/Capcom Fighting Jam, and in more ways then one. Both of them has rather questionable rosters, original characters, (Ai and Yuki here, Ingrid in CFE.), they are 2-on-2 fighting games (though NGBC actually has tag-based gameplay.) and probably most important of all is that it crosses over several fighting game properties together to create a lukewarm, forgotten fighting game with mixed-to-bad reception.
In addition to the characters from fighting games such as Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, King of Fighters (Which in itself is technically a crossover like this.), Samurai Shodown, The Last Blade and a couple others, this game also have a couple of characters from Metal Slug, SNK’s other big franchise, And other non-fighting games. The spread of characters per series isn’t very balanced though; for instance, Art of Fighting gets 4 representatives whereas Fatal Fury gets as much as 9. Overall, its not a bad fighter, per se, but it was pretty unremarkable. However, if you’re like me at least, you can finally achieve your dream of having Terry Buster Wolf-ing Marco Rossi, so there’s that.
