Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2 is a direct sequel to Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (first game), for Playstation 2

Story

Directly following the events of the first game, Embryon transfered from junkyard into the world promised as nirvana and known as the Real World. The Real World is slowly being destroyed by the Black Sun: the only ones able to survive the sun’s rays are those infected with the demon virus. They seek to find answers for the existence of the Junkyard as well as the truth behind Nirvana.

Gameplay

The base gameplay still from the first game of course. Two new main characters are introduced: Roland and Madame Cuvier. This new game adds a “Karma Ring” system, allowing the player to increase character stats. By equipping these rings with gem stones found in the game the player can further increase a character’s stats. Fitting different gems dropped from defeated enemies granting specific stat boosts and effects. This series also adds Berserk Mode, in which a character can enter a half-demonic state, transforming only a part of their body. Characters will sometimes enter battle in berserk mode, which increases attack power while locking away magic skills and lowering a character’s defense.
*Make sure you finish the first game to understanding the story and save it because in this series you can import your save data from previously series to carry some skills from it.
