Review by PKMaster99:

PKMaster99 AvatarThere are tons of SRPG out there and when it comes to Gundam, this is your choice.
SD Gundam G Generation had some terrible balancing problems but Overworld is not too far off from it either. The only difference is that it is much harder to make a single unit/character over powered. It will take a lot of time and effort.
For SD Gundam G Generation Over world I would give it 8/10 as over all score.

Story 5/10

There is no real story to this but the characters from the sd gundam itself is almost none existence as well. You might think why I give it 5 out of 10 now, why? it is because by going to each stage and missions, you are able to experiance some of the most exciting stories from each different gundam series as you keep playing. I believe the thing it lacks the most is the interaction between character from different gundam universe, they could really use more of that.

Art 9/10

I find almost no flaws in the art and the animations of the combats like in some other JSRPG like Super Robot Wars series. The hit marks and everything is almost right on all the time, there is only a few units’ attack that will look weird. Each unit display it’s strength and style pretty much perfectly.

Sound 10/10

I was impressed with the sound and vocals of the G generation. Each bgm is fits the condition and the vocals are just greats, especially for the character creation. The amount of bgm you can select and the voices you want them to have is just amazing. I didn’t get tired of creating new characters myself even though their stats are just… bad.

Game Play 8/10

For a SRPG game, I say the game play its quite well done. As you progress, the fights slowly becoming more chanllenging and some times, it require you to play really carefully. I myself fancy SRPG game and the balancing is quite well done in this one. If you have units that is weaker against the enemy, you are most likely to get punished very hard if you try to fight them 1 on 1. Sometimes, in order to advance smoothly it requires some grinding so you get to have stronger units and that can take up to an hour or two depends on which stage. I would give this game a much higher score if it is more flexible on the amount of money you get so you can buy units, characters, etc… since it really makes you grind for levels and money quite often if you want to advance to next stage without losing a few of your best unit. unless you are just amazing at calculating every single damage trade.
