2/3 of this game script is in Party Chat. Square Enix didn't want to spend too much money localizing a game only a few would buy. So they cut it out. Fast forward to 2014, Square Enix realized their mistake, the franchise is now a major success and they want to launch the game for mobile devices, this time translating party chat. On June 2021, developer "concreted" releases a tool on Github which:
- Takes the English script from the DS US version of Dragon Quest IV.
- Takes the English party chat script from the Android version of DQIV.
- Reinserts them both into the Japanese DS version of the game.
